Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our expanding finance team. This position plays a critical role in supporting the financial health and strategic decision-making of the organization. It involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights to management to optimize business operations, identify trends, and support strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
 
Essential Functions:
      
  • Perform variance analysis (actual/forecast vs. forecast) and explain any major differences. Identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and provide insights to the sales team to help them reach financial goals.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Address and resolve issues encountered during month-end close or daily operations in accordance with company policy.
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments and ensure compliance with HQ internal control requirement, GAAP and tax regulation. 
  • Participate in cross-training initiatives within the finance department to develop a comprehensive understanding of various financial functions.
  • Proactively identify and evaluate opportunities to apply AI and automation technologies to streamline financial processes, reduce manual effort, and improve operational efficiency within the finance department.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of corporate accounting policies and procedures. 
  • Fulfill request of external quarterly review and annual audit. 
  • Assist with special projects as required. 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in MS office, especially excel (must be familiar with different kinds of functions for analysis). 
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work confidently in a rapidly changing, fast-paced and results-oriented corporate environment where a high degree of flexibility is required.
Qualifications/Experience:
 
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance. 
  • Computer industry work experience is preferred. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skill of Chinese/ Mandarin is a plus.
$70,304 - $90,000 annually is the estimated pay range for this role working in Fremont, California office. It does not include bonuses, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D insurance, Paid Time Off, EAP, & 401(k). The final amount will be determined based on the qualifications & experience of the candidate relative to the role.
